there's a monster in my life.
and he haunts me every day.
i portray it as a man because
man is the enemy.
he's not a boyfriend, friend,
brother, or significant other
he's a monster.
not My monster.
but A monster.
you know,
the kind that go bump in the night.
the kind that makes your adrenalin ignite.
if only fear was just a word.
and not a being of state.
i mean a feeling of mind.
a control over fate.
my fate?
nah, monsters can only do so much
so when i close my eyes he fades away
but when i open them again
